Here's a biking community which has all types of bikers....stunters, tourers, dragsters, street burners and all....

Right now the total strength of the team is 15.

Most of the group members own the Bajaj Pulsar series of bikes......

The Team head , Sunny himself having bought the Pulsar200 recently...

Sunny being the head, also takes concern over various issues, like planning for a trip, a meet, photography, stunt videos etc.

Diveagar Trip Day2

The second day started quite late with the Team members waking up @ 900am except, sunny & neil ....

They started @ 10 towards Shreevardhan(20 kms from Diveagar) & Harihareshwar(25 kms from Diveagar)......

The road was bad @ first but later on it was smooth. Again some rough patch & narrow roads were aching backs of the pillions while the riders were enjoying every bit of it!!!

It was too hot @ they were actually sweating.

The average speed was about 50-60 kmph.

Diveagar Trip - The Journey begins...

The Journey Begins...
Diveagar - the word defines greenery all around a lovely beach.........with inviting open roads all around...

& yeah , the RPMs rocked the beaches of Diveagar (DA)!!!!

The lucky members who joined this trip were:
Sunny (200)
Neil (220)
Vishal Shah (VS) (200)
Vishal Joshi (VJ) (180 DTS-i)
Vinayak Khune (VK)
Niks
Bhushan Lalwani (the new face in RPM!!!)

The trip started @ 4am 24-5-08 (Sat) with 4 bikes 200s(sunny & VS), 1 220(Guru) & 1 180(Neil)....@ around 4:20am all were gathered near Chandni chowk...packed with their bags containing all the essential stuff they would need in case of emergency & for the journey...& they started from there....roaring the ghats of mutha & then Tamhini...It was dark though the team members kept a steady speed. Though sunny was a bit slow as he was not confident in drivin @ night..the other team members kept the bikes zoomin especially VJ...who was quick around the corners & was leading the pack of 4 bikes...constantly...!!!!

As the dawn came to an end & the day broke, the RPMs saw a beautiful picture of nature in front of them in the Tamhini ghat!!! & also a beautiful sunrise....

Now that it was daylight, sunny was quicker than he was in the dark....the RPMs took regular breaks in between the ghats & checking the bikes also.

The team reached Mangav @ around 615am !!! (Record time in spite of so many breaks!!!)

There they were having breakfast when a bunch of people started staring @ the bikes from every angle. The helmets were the main attraction along with the bikes!!!

After having the brakfast, they left Mangav feeling fresh & alive!!!

Now, the road ahead was quite inviting & inspiring. The RPMs kept a steady speed of 80-90 kmph.

The road was pretty smooth & nothing fell off from the bikes as would in a tour & finally @ 840, they reached their destination- DA...

In the small roads inside DA, children & people were looking @ them like they had never seen a group like that. It must have been the bikes & the helmets the village people were amused to see...

They parked their vehicles in the guest house parking & rested for 2-3 hours.

Guru on 220, Sunny on 200 All Pics- Vishal Joshi

Guru wanted a fotoshoot of his brand new 220 on a lazy sunday morning, to which first sunny declined, but later agreed.

So Guru, Vishal,Varun & sunny started their short journey on 220, 200 & 180 to their decided destination.....

They were planning to go to Katraj bypass first, but later went to chandni chowk
(due to rainy conditions).

Vishal , sitting behind Varun started clicking pics of 220 as well as 200!!!

After going 2-3 kms towrds Mulshi from chandni chowk, they decided to take hot chai & Bhaji @ a hotel.

after that some more pics were taken on the road!!!!

Mulshi Trip

Trip to Mulshi Pics: Sunny Pawar

8:30 am, Sunday, Chandni chowk....8 mean bikers.......another journey begins.....

The RPM team went to Mulshi 45 kms from Pune for their long awaited trip. The idea was conceived by Sunny. 8 members went on their Pulsars, except for Sunny(he had Spectra then... :( ). Members included Sunny, Neil, Guru, Vishal, Vinayak, Dheeraj, Sudhir and Varun.

It was 1 helluva day....

All the members were fired up....and doing what they do best.....

Neil, Vishal and Guru kept cornering @ neck breaking Speeds......
while Dheeraj was giving Vince a run for his money..... :)

Unfortunately, Sudhir misjudged a corner which screwed his arm....All the team members rushed to his rescue......

& then Sunny himself was riding Sudhir's Pulsar......

Away they went.....continued with the trip.....

After reaching the Lavasa gate, the riders took some rest while Sunny was busy shooting a video with guru & vishal.

After that they returned back. but while returning there was again a mis-hap. Dheeraj misjudged a Discover which was cuming from the other end. he slipped. no serious injuries though.....
Then they had "Neera" and they went back to their respective homes.....

Return of 2-strokers?

I know exactly why bike enthusiasts in India swear by Bajaj this is due to fact that R&D people at Bajaj have that listening ear to all of us and they just know somehow what bikers in India want.And they have this curious penchant for pulling out something out of the box.

Keeping with the tradition Bajaj has planned another stunner.I hope you all remember sonic that has been doing round of various auto-shows since end-2005.
Although the bike looked quite good and complete,they didn't launch it.This was because of Bajaj's move to quit 100cc business and concentrate on 125cc and above.However declined sales over last quarter have set the alarm ringing.This might compel them to launch sonic which essentially is 100cc platform.

Albeit in 2-stroke mode.....
wait.what a 2-stroke?yes you red right!
If Bajaj has its way then we might see those nasty little rockets again.
I know not a single enthusiast in this country will ever forget RXs,Shoguns and RDs,the unmatched rush and smoky end-cans!ohh my!do i miss them.
So is it really worth to bring back extinct technology?only time will tell,but min you this new 2-stroke engine that Bajaj is planning is no ordinary engine.Its a DI engine developed by Australia based 'Orbital engine corporation'.The 50cc model of this engine has been doing duty in many European scooterettes,namely Aprilia Sonic(what a co-incidence),and Peugeot Elyster amongst some other.
Like I said this engine is not ordinary in both its mechanics and performance but emission levels are also very low and comparable to 4-stroke engine.Besides being as frugal as a 4-stroker.
As calculations go a 100cc DI engine will be able to make around 10PS.But add to that heady zip that 2-strokers give and you are in for a surprising performance from this little sonic boom.
So will Bajaj do the obvious?I m keeping my fingers crossed,but somewhere down my heart I m already hearing the those kick-ass 2-strokers....

LPG Bajaj Platina

In the coming next 2-3 weeks Bajaj may be rolling out its bread and butter platina in LPG version.Which I think will create quiet a stir in economisers.Considering that LPG costs less than half(INR20-24) of what petrol costs(INR.50),a LPG version is expected to give a new meaning to 'economy' class 2-wheelers.Add to that that Platina as already one of the most fuel efficient bikes in India.No wonder LPG Platina will be one the cheapest bike-to-run by a fair margin.
Seems that battery powered vehicles have some serious challenge ahead of them.
The LPG Platina is expected at the end of this month,with a slight a hike in price over petrol version due to added cost of LPG regulator.But all this premium will be evened out in no time because of significantly low running cost.
The bike will sport similar looks but is said to have slight modifications in fuel filler cap and instrumentation.A 5Litre LPG tank and separate10Litre petrol tank has been retained due to non-availability of LPG as of now.

UPDATE :
Bajaj is not only planning LPG Bikes but is also onto CNG powered scooters.Namely Bajaj Chetak of '80s and '90s!
Although no confirmed reports on this,there is no question that Bajaj can definitely pull out something like this!Way to go Bajaj,we are all for it.
